Is Trade in COVID-19 Products in ASEAN Economies a Building or Stumbling Block?

Stumbling blocks to regional integration continue pose a serious threat the World Trade Organization (WTO), particularly during COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims examine effect of economic on trade in products for Association Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries using quarterly data 2010–2020. A panel model is estimated Poisson pseudo-maximum likelihood approach address zero values, cross-sectional dependence, and heterogeneity problems. The findings case bilateral reveal that ASEAN agreement stumbling block WTO’s rules-based multilateral trading system. results indicate home country’s productive capacity, host absorptive countries’ similarity size per capita income, remoteness have positive significant relationships with economies. provides several policy implications countries.
